Job Title

Heart Walk Volunteer Extraordinaire!

Job Description & Duties

Help support the American Heart Association’s Annual Heart Walk that raises funds for important research on cardiovascular disease and stroke, as well as educational programs that contribute to the overall greater health of our community by offering your time as a volunteer!

We have a variety of different departments in which you can offer your time the day leading-up-to, and the day of the Heart Walk (October 14th and October 15th). The positions range from general set-up to assisting the excellent photography team to handing out delicious samples from our vendors to helping the stage managers man the show, so you are likely to find a position that fits with your set of interests and is fun!

-We will fill you in on all the positions if you get in touch with us. There’s a lot of good ones to chose from!-

We love our volunteers, so we want to make this a great experience for all of you. If you are interested in donating your time please do let us know you’re top three positions you are interested in and we will do our best to match them. Please also feel free to spread the word to colleagues, friends and family to get them involved as well, we need a lot of volunteers on the big day and why not do it with the people you love! Talk about team work!

There are three different shifts available, some will be dependent on the department in which you volunteer and they may change slightly as the event approaches, but the standing outline of shifts is below:

Friday, October 14th

[20 -30 Volunteers]

1 pm – 5 pm

This day will be primarily fun set-up and much less involved than Saturday, the day of the event. You’ll get to be involved with the behind-the-scenes crew getting ready for the big day!

Saturday, October 15th

[100 – 150 Volunteers]

5 am – 8 am

For you early morning birds, who like to get an early start, please join us in the final moments before the event while we put together all the loose ends in anticipation of our 10,000 walkers. Things will be fun and busy as we prepare and then you will be done just in time to enjoy the festivities or participate in the walk! We promise coming to help out this early will pay off when you get to see all the fun things we have coming for the festival!

8 am – 12 noon

Those who volunteer for this shift will get to be in the midst of all the action and help out with making sure the event is as fun as possible for both you and our walkers! Help our photographers, vendors, stage managers and more run the show, or be a smiling face and cheering voice for all our incredible walkers in a great community space!
