Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant opportunities at Seattle Children’s

Seattle Children’s Hospital is hiring for phlebotomist/lab assistant roles in their hospital clinical laboratory. They have openings regularly for both full-time and part-time roles.

The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant III will provide age-appropriate phlebotomy services; perform laboratory specimen processing; use clinical information systems to fulfill laboratory orders; provide results of testing and other information to patient care teams; create accounts for laboratory specimens in hospital demographics/billing system; train new employees; participate in process improvement efforts aimed at improving direct patient care and flow of specimens through the laboratory.

They prefer candidates with previous phlebotomy or laboratory experience, but occasionally do on-the-job training for candidates who at least have college-level science coursework. They are willing to train staff who are a good fit. They often hire students who are planning on applying to nursing or medical school programs who are in need of direct patient care experience.
