Madison Durand

Hello, my name is Madie Durand, and I am a transfer student from Cascadia! Physics and astronomy are two of my most consuming passions, stemming from my love of math and intrigue with space and the ever-elusive fundamental nature of reality. I took physics on a bit of a whim and quickly fell in love, both with learning it and with teaching it to others. When I took my first astronomy class, I was finally able to figure out exactly what kind of physics I wanted to do! My life outside of math, physics, and astronomy consists mostly of baking (one of my biggest obsessions, as it is the combination of art, math, science, and the act of making others happy), drawing, and dance- I competed for two years with my high school’s drill team, and I’ve taken jazz, lyrical, tap, modern, and now, hip hop!
