Facilities Records Background

Background...

Facilities Records Vault is the active storage location of engineering documents related to the construction and remodel of University facilities dating back to the late 1800's. The Records Vault has on file approximately 85,000 engineering drawings, and thousands of construction specifications, soil reports, engineering reports, design calculations, and maintenance manuals. All documents are readily accessible as microfilm for viewing and most documents can be reproduced by our dedicated student staff to hard copy for a small fee. An online database has been placed in service that allows research, document viewing, and document ordering through the web. This database will replace the need for microfilm viewing by the end of 2008.

Facilities Records is also staffed with AutoCAD technicians who's primary function is the maintenance and update of record drawings which depict current conditions on campus such as building interior layout and square footage, and campus utility details.

Mission...

The mission of the Facilities Records unit of the Engineering Services office is to receive and maintain facility record documents commonly used by campus units, students, consultants, and the general public. The Facilities Records unit also provides document reproduction services, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) services, campus aerial photos, and other specialty services.
