WE ARE RECRUITING AT ALL LEVELS!

Students:

Both the Statistics and Biostatistics departments are seeking to expand this component of their graduate programs. For more information, see this website.

Faculty positions:

The Statistics Department filled its Statistical Genetics faculty position in 2000. We are delighted to have recruited Dr. Matthew Stephens. Matthew completed his Ph.D. in Oxford, under the supervision of Professor Brian Ripley, in 1998. He has since been working with Professor Peter Donnelly. For a view of his recent work, see the recent Stephens and Donnelly RSS discussion paper.

The Biostatistics Department is currently seeking a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Biostatistics (50% state, 50% existing research funding) specializing in statistical genetics, computational genomics, computational molecular biology, and/or bioinformatics. Research faculty and postdoctoral associates:

Note that the Department of Biostatistics has advertised research faculty positions across a broad range and at all levels. See the advertisement

The UW Genome Training Grant based in the Department of Molecular Biotechnology has a designated Statistical Genetics component, and has postdoctoral training slots available. This is an NIH Training Grant -- the usual citizenship/permanent residence rules apply. Unfortunately the GTG has no web page (yet). However, applicants may contact the Statistical Genetics faculty for more information.
