Bio

Derrick is a US Army Captain with 8 years of military experience. Derrick graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Chemistry in 2009, and earned his M.S. in Environmental Management from Webster University in 2014. Derrick has held various positions during his military career, including Company Command of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosives (CBRNE) Company (Technical Escort), Team Leader of a CBRNE Response Team, and Platoon Leader of a CMRN Reconnaissance Platoon. His current research focuses on high speed cryogenically focused injectors (HSCFI) for one- and multi-dimensional gas chromatography and instrumentation for three-dimensional gas chromatography. Derrick is currently in his second year as a graduate student with the Synovec Group.
