Dear Dr. Sarah Reichard,
My name is Javier Cabrera. I am a young cuban biologist. I have recently arrived to USA (just 7 months ago), and after been settled down for a while in Miami, I found later a job in Plainwell, MI, where I lived for exctly 3 months until I decided to move here, to Seattle, WA.
Right now I was looking for my profile-related jobs over the Internet and I saw, with pleasure and with a little of sadness (was the awake of many memories), your post about your recent visit to Cuba. I am really glad to hear that you enjoy your visit to my country, I am agree that is a beautiful place, and its true, its very close to USA. Its a shame that we remain so distant when the reality is that many americans are now loosing the posibility to visit and to know the southern Caribbean largest island you have as neighboor. I just want to thanks all your impressions, all are very accurate, about the reality of the Cuba. You carried me to the land that all americans see now as the farland of grand parents tales, but it is real, and you made me feel like living a dream, cause I saw in your pictures and in your descriptions the same streets over wich I walked until yesterday, and the same natural places that seeded on me the dream to became a biologist. Thank you very much! You bring with you a little big piece of Cuba with you, and I am very grateful for that! Thank you very much!!!
Sincerely,
Javier
