John is taking a French course. He is
in the beginning level. John likes his class.
His instructor, Michelle, organizes the lesson very
carefully. She wants to give the students a lot of opportunities to
practice, but first she presents the lesson clearly
so the students don’t make a lot of mistakes. First she gives an
explanation. John doesn’t always understand these explanations,
but Michelle also gives some examples. After Michelle’s presentation,
John and his classmates practice. Sometimes they use the lesson in
the book to practice. Other times they use a handout that
Michelle makes for them. These materials give
students opportunities to practice and
ask questions. While they work, Michelle gives them feedback. She walks around and talks
to them about how they're doing. They really like getting feedback,
especially about pronunciation.
