Medical Student Parking at SCH and Transportation Info

On the day of orientation (or the day you sign-in) only, you may park in the Ocean parking garage. After the day you sign-in, you will park off-site. Medical students park for free at the Magnuson Park lot and use the SCH shuttle for transportation between the parking lot and the hospital. Here is a link to the PDF that includes the Magnuson Parking lot shuttle schedule. SCH also has shuttles that run from downtown Seattle (Green Line), the University District (Purple Line) and the UW Light Rail Station (Gold Line). Here is a link to those three shuttle schedules. Medical students can ride these shuttles free of charge after they have been issued an SCH badge by the Medical Student Office.

NOTICE: If you are parked at the Magnuson Lot or plan to use a Children’s Shuttle on your last day, you need to request a temporary badge from the GME Office when you return your badge. You will not be allowed on the shuttle without a temporary badge.

If your schedule requires you to be at the hospital before 5:15AM or on a weekend day, you may park on campus in Lot 3, Lot 4 or the Ocean 6 garage. The first shuttle leaves Magnuson at 5:00AM on weekdays.
If your schedule requires you to be at the hospital after 8:45PM, you may park on campus in Lot 3, Lot 4 or the Ocean 6 garage after 2PM. You will need to move your car from the Magnuson lot to Lot 3, Lot 4 or the Ocean 6 garage.

Other transportation options include the SCCA shuttle and King County Metro buses. The SCCA shuttle runs from the UWMC and SCH. The hospital is served directly by five King Country Metro bus routes: #25, #31, #32, #65, and #75.

DO NOT park in the neighborhoods around Children’s.

Failure to comply with the parking rules will get you ticketed or towed.
