OMA&D Welcome Daze


Welcome New Huskies! OMA&D Welcome Daze is awesome event for first year students, so they can learn about campus and community resources, as well as connect with current students, OMA&D staff and faculty of color from across campus.


Welcome Daze Kickoff | Sept 23rd, 2016

The start of 2016 OMA&D Welcome Daze is the kickoff luncheon and resource fair, which takes place on Friday, September 23rd, 2016 at Husky Union Building. The afternoon long event includes a resource fair to learn about diverse campus organizations, cultural activities, student dance performances, food, music and the chance to win raffle prizes!

In addition, the fun continues throughout September and October, with over a month of community programs and events, including the Kelly ECC Open House, LSAMP Open House, HSCMSP Open House, the Kelly ECC Block Party and OMA&D Academic Counseling Services Open House

Community Dinners | Oct 5th – 13th, 2016

Community dinners will feature a variety of delicious cultural cuisines, a short program, prizes, music, and an opportunity to build community and socialize with other freshman and transfer students.

First Year Diversity & Inclusion Retreat | Oct 1st – 2rd, 2016

The First Year Diversity & Inclusion Retreat will feature an all expenses paid day-and-half of engaging dialogues, thoughtful and fun activities, inspiring workshops, and opportunities to build community with your Kelly ECC community and fellow first year classmates!

  • If Welcome Daze 2016 conflicts with your resident hall move-in time, please contact Housing and Food Services to reschedule.
