Dr. Joy Willamson-Lott is the dean of the University of Washington Graduate school, and an accomplished scholar and researcher in the field of American higher education and an advocate for equity and diversity in higher education. Dr. Williamson-Lott is the author of several books examining black higher educational history and the black freedom struggle, including her most recent book, “Jim Crow Campus: Higher Education and the Struggle for a New Southern Social Order.” We are excited to have Dr. Williamson-Lott speak with us about her work!

Dr. Audrey Gasch is a Professor of Genetics at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the interim director of the Center for Genomics Science Innovation. Dr Gasch is interested in understanding how eukaryotic cells sense and respond to environmental stresses and how defects in the process underlie disease and dysfunction. Their work incorporates genomics and systems biology to understand principles of stress resistance, genetic variation in environmental responses, and evolution of stress defense systems. We look forward to hearing from Dr Gasch at our departmental seminar as our WiGS invited speaker!
