We are excited to present our 2019 keynote speaker, Mohamed Hafez. With a background in architecture and a deep understanding of displacement and war, Hafez creates photo-realistic, sculptures of the urban landscape of the Middle East. His most famous project, Unpacked: Refugee Baggage, aims to amplify refugee voices by creating miniature replicas of homes, communities, and countries, that have been devastated by war and political unrest.

Event details can be found on the Seattle Arts Leadership Conference webpage.

Call for Conference Proposals

The Conference is seeking proposals that reflect the theme of [RE]CONNECT, Courageous Arts Leadership in Turbulent Times. Like many times in history, our world has become disjointed into us versus them, establishments of ‘other’, and confusion. This conference theme is intended to bravely and boldly call out issues and encourage change through our leadership. As Arts Leaders, it is our responsibility to act as a conduit for connecting people and ideas.

We welcome you to submit a proposal that encompasses the ideas of connection, togetherness, and unity. Exemplary proposals should address community and personal connections created through the arts, illustrate ideas through a socially just and equitable lens, and focus on issues that impact a diverse range of practitioners and organizations.

How to Submit:
-Complete the Call for Proposals form by Monday, January 14, 2019.
Submissions must include a session title and description, presenter information, and a description of how the presentation aligns with the conference theme.

The submission deadline is January 14th, 2019. Applicants will be informed by February 1st, 2019 with the status of their presentation proposal.
