My name is Ben Azevedo and I am a recruitment representative for the University of Washington Formula Motorsports Team. For the past 30 years our team has been designing and building Formula 1-style racecars to compete against the best universities in the world. Today, we invite you to join us in the race.
In fact, we have a few open positions right now suited for art/film/cinematography students. Possible tasks include:
- Promotional videos
- Team member interview videos
- Information/Instructional videos
- Team communication and outreach
- Graphic design (car livery, posters, stickers, vinyls, etc.)
- Apparel design (shirts, polos, socks, jackets, sweaters, hats, etc.)
The single most important and necessary quality for applicants is a passion for race cars and an interest in learning how they are built. As such, alongside the responsibilities mentioned above you will have the opportunity to learn valuable skills such as assembling printed circuit boards, laying up carbon fiber molds, machining parts in the machine shop, or even designing 3D models in SolidWorks.
Currently our operational structure can be compared to that of a small business. We have approximately 50 members, a $250,000 budget, and hundreds of sponsors from around the country. For our ‘small business’ to be the best that it can be, we need to consistently be bringing in the best and brightest UW has to offer.
If this sounds like the type of opportunity you’ve been looking for, apply now at uwformula.com/apply.
