The Vera Project is looking for an artist to complete a new site-specific mural on the large interior staircase that opens into the gallery.
To Apply: Send a short written description of your proposal, and 2-3 images of previous work to Verart@theveraproject.org. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until March 2020.
Content should be comparable to Vera’s mission and vision, and be diverse enough to work well in a multi-use space. Artists, musicians, and private clients frequent our space all year, often of diverse backgrounds and of all ages. Artwork should be constructed in approximately 20 hours, over a week sometime this winter/spring, schedules permitting. Artwork in this space often is painted. They are open to other mediums if it works! The resulting artwork should be able to be photographed and/or recorded in all media deemed appropriate for Vera and their partners.
Please include an artist statement, website, and/or social media links with your submission. Once selected, proposals will be reviewed by Vera Staff and Gallery Committee. Artist will be asked to design content for one final review before starting mural.
Stipend: We are providing a $200 stipend at the completion of the mural, to help cover material costs and artist time.
