Tasveer Development Manager
Key Responsibilities:
The Development Manager is responsible for maintaining and increasing funding via foundation funding, major donors, individual donations, sponsorships, and corporate partnerships. This position is responsible for coordinating development activities for events such as Tasveer South Asian Film Festival (TSAFF), Aaina: South Asian Women Festival, South Asian LitFest, the Tasveer Gala etc. The Development Manager works closely with and reports to Tasveer’s Executive Director and the Tasveer Development Committee.
Development Support and Communications (35%)

Tasveer Gala and Festivals

Tasveer’s online campaigns and appeal letters

Researching and identifying potential foundations and donors
-
Managing the grant proposal and reporting process

Cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and sponsors at all levels, particularly major donors
Overseeing Events Sponsorship (35%)

Lead effort to secure corporate sponsors for TSAFF, Tasveer Gala, Aaina and other events

Creating a strong, creative, atrractive donation center and communications collateral for fundraising at the Festivals

Regular management and import of data to Little Green Light

Provide excellent customer service to donors, corporate partners, and attendees
Donor Acknowledgement and Administration (30%)

Process donations, write thank you letters, maintain donor database

Provide administrative support related to fund development activities
Key Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have experience with individual and corporate giving. A passion for storytelling as a way to reduce stereotypes and promote social change is highly desired. In addition to demonstrated success in the above areas of work, the ideal candidate will have:
Bachelors degree

Minimum 3 ~ 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising

Desirable experience in grant writing + reporting

Desirable experience in using a CRM system preferable Little Green Light

An affinity for South Asian culture, arts and films

Strong written skill, ability to self edit accurately

Some knowledge and understanding of event planning best practices

Bold in making make cold calls

High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidential donor information

Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with various deadlines and priorities while maintaining with exceptional attention to detail
Details:
This is a 25 hrs/week non-exempt flexible position paying $25 – $30/hour based on experience plus benefits. Benefits will start after 2months job probation. Possibility to turn into a FT in 3months. The Development Manager will work closely with the executive director and board development committee.
