Tirto Furniture seeks a part-time sales person to join our team. We are looking for someone who enjoys people, is self-motivated, confident, and interested in furniture. This individual will work three days a week, from 10:30am-6pm. The schedule is negotiable, and is determined a month in advance, but will likely include between two to three weekends a month. Pay begins at $17 an hour. Additional hours possible after 3 month trial period. Our past sales people have all been students, as the role often compliments class schedules well.
Responsibilities include; creating a welcoming environment for customers, graciously answering questions, accurately checking customers out, assisting with returns or exchanges, helping load purchased furniture into customer’s vehicles, and re-stocking the showroom floor.
Located in Northeast Capitol Hill, Tirto Furniture opened 6.5 years ago, carrying on a family tradition of furniture design with all furniture handcrafted in their workshop in Indonesia. The handcrafted furniture is made primarily from recycled teak wood. Tirto Furniture is fortunate to have customers that include interior designers, architects, local bars and restaurants.
Requirements:
- Welcoming, friendly, confident personality
- Interest in furniture, design, and/or willingness to learn about the product
- Self-motivated, can do attitude
- Attention to detail, organized
- Ability to accurately conduct digital sales transactions and process payment
- Willing to help load furniture into vehicles and re-arrange showroom floor, and an ability to lift 50 pounds
- Willingness to adhere to and enforce COVID-19 requirements
