The Northwest Justice Project (NJP) is a not-for-profit law firm with a mission of Combatting Injustice • Strengthening Communities • Protecting Human Dignity. NJP secures justice for people in or near poverty through high quality legal advocacy that promotes the long-term well-being of low-income individuals, families and communities through legal representation, community partnerships, education and other advocacy.

NJP is adding a new position that will enhance NJP’s digital media presence and expand our engagement with public including clients, partners, and donors. NJP is hiring a Social Media Specialist.

This position will provide a central point of contact for coordinated and branded social media content and posting across all departments and field offices of NJP. The Social Media Specialist will report to the Director of Development and be part of the resource development team. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, standard business hours. The preferred location for this position is in our Seattle Office, but other field office locations will be considered.

JOB DUTIES:

As the primary resource for NJP’s social media initiatives, responsibilities include:

Lead overall digital marketing to raise awareness about NJP’s work to the public
Coordinate with the Legal Media Team and other units and field offices to develop, curate and deploy content
Support online fundraising campaigns and communications
Implement, test, and update NJP’s social media protocols
Maintain strict confidentiality with client information and use utmost discretion with sensitive information.
Curate, create, design, and/or edit content for social media, which can include:
Legal aid education and community engagement
Impact stories: clients, staff, board, community
Program info and activities: legal clinics, events, resources, etc.
Advocacy highlights and media coverage
Field office highlights
Donor and partner recognition
Other relevant content
Ensure consistent, coordinated, and timely posting on:

Website: nwjustice.org
Facebook (established)
Instagram (new)
Other appropriate social media outlets
Monitor and direct inquiries and messages from social media to the appropriate staff including:

Requests for legal help
Communication from current clients
Client/community complaints
Media requests
Community organizations

QUALIFICATIONS

Passion for mission driven work and demonstrated commitment to social justice and race equity
Two or more years of digital marketing, social media content management, communications, editing, or similar experience in a fast-paced environment
Experience with multi-media digital content creation across multiple platforms
Skills in graphic design, videography, video editing, or similar
Experience supporting live social media events
Track record of setting, measuring, and reporting on data analytics
Demonstrated success growing online engagement to meet target goals
Organized and detail oriented, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills electronically, telephonically, and face to face
Ability to engage attorneys as well as to translate attorney language to appeal to the public
Innovative, resourceful, and collaborative interaction with community members and colleagues
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, and cloud-based digital marketing and social media tools

Compensation: NJP Social Media Specialist Salary Scale based on years of experience starting at $52,890 to $84,143 annually. This is a non-exempt position. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes 100% paid employee health premiums and significant premium shares for family health premiums, as well as generous time off.

Hours of work: NJP’s typical client office hours are 9:00 – 5:00, Monday through Friday.
