Adaptive Recreation Creative Arts Assistant
Hours: Tuesday and Thursday
9:30am – Noon
5 hours per week
Program Runs September 13, 2022 – June 8, 2023
Salary: $16.00 hour

Duties:
Under the direction of the Adaptive and Youth/Teen Manager and Program Coordinator, assist Art’s instructor and help participants with a variety of weekly creative arts programs for participants ages 13 – 100 with developmental and/or physical disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants are subject to a position relevant background check. Other requirements include three personal and/or work references.
Preferred Qualifications:
One (1) year or more of experience working with youth and adults with and without disabilities in recreation, teaching or day camp environment; knowledge of age appropriate art activities for participants between 13-100 years old with developmental and/or physical disabilities; Ability to live by Kent Parks mission of “Dedicated to Enriching Lives” and demonstrate the following characteristics: responsible, respectful, honest, energetic, passionate, flexible, original, creative, dependable, thoughtful. Have basic arts and craft skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a community center/indoor facility with a large volume of customers, noisy environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
