Rain City Clay (RCC) has an opening for a Studio Technical Assistant who will be a part time employee on our small crew. We are looking for someone who is passionate about craft and community. The Studio Technical Assistant works directly with the Studio Manager and is primarily responsible for the studio flow, processing artwork through kilns, mixing glazes, stocking materials, and general cleaning tasks at RCC. They may help with equipment maintenance. They will have customer service responsibilities as they interact with students to help them navigate the studio and ceramic processes.

You don’t need to be an accomplished potter, but it helps to love pottery, enjoy contributing to a team, and have experience in a ceramics studio, in customer service, clay working, or maintenance capacities. Communicative, friendly, hard-working folks from all backgrounds should get in touch.

We host multiple 10-week classes and short workshops for approx. 120 students a quarter. This position is a 15 hours a week, part-time, non-exempt position, with frequent weekend hours required. The ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly is part of the requirement of the job.
