Laura Webster, D.Bioethics, RN, HEC-C
Dr. Laura Webster serves in the Northwest Region as the Vice President of Ethics at CommonSpirit Health providing organizational ethics structure and operational support from the leaders in the region to the patients and staff at the bedside. Laura attended the University of Washington to earn a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and a Master's in Bioethics and Humanities focusing on clinical ethics. Then, a few years later, Laura pursued a Doctorate in Bioethics at Loyola University Chicago to learn more about organizational ethics. Laura is Affiliate Faculty in the University of Washington School of Medicine in the Department of Bioethics and Humanities, an active member of the American Nurses Association and the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities. Laura dedicates time as an expert member for the RN Code of Ethics 2025 Revision and was a Task Force member for the 3rd Edition of the Core Competencies for Health Care Ethics Consultants. Locally, Laura sits on the Disaster Clinical Advisory Committee and acts as a subject matter expert for WA State. They actively provide bioethics education across the globe. Laura’s commitment to the health across our communities includes decades of volunteering as a registered nurse both locally and internally.
