Come work with us! The Department of Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Washington is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join us in September 2027.

Our search focuses on the ethical, social, legal, policy and humanistic dimensions of AI and data-intensive technologies in science and medicine. We also welcome scholars working on other emerging biotechnologies, including genomics, reproductive and cellular technologies, and synthetic biology.

Our department brings together scholars from the humanities, social sciences and health professions, with a shared commitment to understanding the ethical and social dimensions of science and medicine. Based in the School of Medicine, we teach students across undergraduate, graduate and professional programs and collaborate with colleagues throughout UW and Seattle Children’s.

We look forward to welcoming a new colleague whose ideas and interests will help shape our research, teaching and departmental community. Please share widely.
