Research

Peptides present an attractive therapeutic modality as they combine the advantages of small-molecule drugs (stability, low immunogenicity) and large biologics (selectivity). We focus on developing computational and experimental methods for the high-throughput design of peptide-based therapeutics. Current projects in our lab aim to (1) define the design principles for cytosolic permeability, oral bioavailability, and blood-brain barrier traversal; and (2) design peptides to address the unmet medical needs in antibiotic resistance, chronic pain, and neurodegenerative disorders.
