We use the standard ACPE Application Form, which you can find on the ACPE website:

Steps to Apply

1. Download the ACPE Application Form from ACPE.edu (link above)
2. Using the information below, determine which Student Type you will be:
   • Intern
   • Resident
   • Intern-Returning Harborview Student
   • Resident-Returning Harborview Student
3. Review the Required Materials for your Student Type below
4. Write / Gather your essays and other pertinent materials as directed in the relevant Student Section below
5. Go to the Submit Application page on our website
   • Click on the relevant Student Type
   • Fill out the online form & Upload all required documents
6. Mail your application fee using the Pay Application Fee page

Upon receipt of your complete application materials & application fee, we will email you to let you know we’ve received your materials.

Once our educators have reviewed your materials, someone will contact you to let you know whether or not you’ve been selected for an interview. Depending on our educators’ schedules and your location, the interview may be conducted via zoom, in person, or on the phone. Sometime after the interview, we will let you know whether or not you have been accepted.

We receive many applications for our programs. We encourage you to apply widely to CPE centers.

Apply for an Intern Unit

Required Materials:

• ACPE Facesheet / Application: the 2-paged form
• ACPE Application Responses:  your responses to the list of requirements on the ACPE Application form, compiled into a single document. If necessary, you may submit your Resume as a separate file upload.
• If you have already participated in a unit(s) of CPE at a location besides Harborview, be sure to include: 

• • Verbatim with Reflection (see ACPE Application Question #5) 
  • Final Self Evaluation* for each previous CPE unit 
  • Signed Certified Educator’s Final Evaluation* for each previous CPE unit*Note:  Mid-Unit Evaluations may be substituted for Final Evaluations if you are a current CPE student who has not yet completed/received your Final Evaluation(s)

Apply for an Intern Unit – Returning Harborview Students

For Harborview students who are currently in one of our Intern Units or have completed one of our Intern Units within the last 12 months 

Required Materials:

• Updated ACPE Facesheet / Application: the 2-paged form only; no essays required
  
• Communicate with your Current Harborview Educator; you may be required to submit other documents
• No application fee required

Apply for a Residency

Required Materials:

• ACPE Facesheet / Application: the 2-paged form
• ACPE Application Responses:  your responses to the list of requirements on the ACPE Application form, compiled into a single document. Be sure to include your Verbatim with Reflection (see ACPE Application Question #5) and your Resume! If necessary, you may submit these two items as separate file uploads.
• Final Self Evaluation* for your previous unit(s) of CPE 
• Signed Certified Educator’s Final Evaluation* for your previous unit(s) of CPE*Note:  Mid-Unit Evaluations may be substituted for Final Evaluations if you are a current CPE student who has not yet completed/received your Final Evaluation(s)

Apply for a Residency – Returning Harborview Students

For Harborview students who are currently in one of our Intern Units or have completed one of our Intern Units within the last 12 months

Required Materials:

• Updated ACPE Facesheet / Application: the 2-paged form only; no essays required
  
• Supplemental Application Questions, compiled in a single document:
  • Key Learnings:  your Key Learnings so far from your current unit
    
  • Residency Learning Goals:  your potential Learning Goals for your Residency
  • Sample Verbatim and Reflection:  In addition to your full verbatim, please tell us what you learned from this verbatim and from presenting it, as well as why you are choosing this verbatim to submit with your Residency application
• Final Self Evaluation* for your previous unit(s) of CPE
  
• Signed Certified Educator’s Final Evaluation* for your previous unit(s) of CPE*Note:  Mid-Unit Evaluations may be substituted for Final Evaluations if you are a current Harborview CPE student who has not yet completed/received your Final Evaluation(s) 
• No application fee required
  
• Communicate with your Current Harborview Educator; you may be required to submit other documents
