Thank you so much for your support of our valued patients, families, and staff here at Harborview!
The Spiritual Care Discretionary Fund supports a variety of resources and services offered by Harborview’s Spiritual Care Department and is our only fund that enables us to provide materials and services to patients, families, and staff including – but certainly not limited to – those of a religious nature.
Since Harborview is a non-profit, publicly funded organization, donations received through our Discretionary Fund are the only funds we may use to purchase religious items, such as sacred texts, to provide training to our students and providers about a particular spiritual tradition, or to fund other such needs.
The mission of Harborview Spiritual Care is to serve and support persons of any spiritual tradition or practice, as well as persons who do not connect with a spiritual tradition or practice, as we provide holistic emotional support and presence for all persons.
The Harborview Medical Center Spiritual Care Fund offers support for a variety of services in the Spiritual Care Department, including the training of new Spiritual Care Providers and various resources and services for patients, families, and staff.
The Harborview Spiritual Care Prayer Room Fund – or Meditation Room Fund – offers support for the construction, up-keep, and expenditures associated with the designated Meditation / Prayer / Quiet Room at Harborview. Learn more on our Meditation Room page.
The Harborview Medical Center Jewish Spiritual Health Fund offers support for specialized spiritual care services for patients of Harborview Medical Center, especially those of the Jewish faith.
