The 2019 cohort of UW CFRM graduate students had a robust and valuable Summer 2020 experience amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced on-campus CFRM Career Services to operate remotely starting on March 16, 2020.
“March and April are the prime months of internship recruiting, interviewing and offers,” reports Karen Beaudry, Manager of Career Services & Employer Relations. “The students stayed steady, applying to opportunities, as internship programs were canceled or postponed across the U.S.”
75% of the students landed internships during these challenging times. While many students worked remotely in Seattle, their internships were based in 11 U.S. cities, an increase over 2019; in Spokane, WA, Cambridge, MA, New York, NY, Philadelphia, PA, Washington, DC and 4 cities in CA – Los Altos, Pasadena, Palo Alto and Los Angeles.
