RESOLVED: Everything is back online. If you are stuck on the log on screen a restart should fix this problem.
UPDATE: One of our hosts got disconnected from a datastore causing a few servers to crash. Our host is restarting now and we should have things reconnected and turned on in 15 minutes.
We are experiencing a small network problem. Printing services were knocked offline during a network upgrade being performed. I expect to have it back online within a few minutes.

The Ethnic Culture Center printer is having hardware issues. We will have someone on site within 24 hours. Students are encouraged to use another location until this is resolved. The architecture library in Gould Hall is the closest accessible printer.

After making some configuration changes, Dawg Prints services continue to work as normal. Please let us know at uwcshelp@uw.edu if you continue to experience slow-downs or any other related issue.

We need to restart one of the Library print servers. This will bring Dawg Prints services off-line for a few minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience.
We are still working on this problem and hope to have a solution. We are working with both vendors in hopes of finding a permanent solution very soon.

We are aware of an issue with our release stations not responding to card swipes. We are working on the problem and should have a solution in place soon.

Tomorrow morning I will be doing some maintenance on the servers again and will add swap space for the print jobs. I’ll also be upgrading our database to give it more resources so it should speed up things. During this maintenance the servers will be going down for about half an hour to an hour. It may be less but it depends on how long its takes the database upgrade to take. This will happen sometime between 6:30 and 8.
We are currently experiencing extremely heavy usage and blackboard network connection has slowed to a crawl. We are currently working on getting the connection speeds up. I’ll post an update when we make some progress.
Tomorrow (1/30) morning I will be do some maintenance and testing on the dawgprints servers. All dawgprints functions will be offline for up to half an hour between 6:30 and 7:30. We are preparing to roll out and upgrade that will hopefully fix the problems we have been having with blackboard recently. Testing will also be occurring on Friday morning (hopefully a shorter outage) and if all goes well, being implemented on Monday morning. I’ll be posting updates on the this post as to the progress.

UPDATE: The new servers are online and working well in our test environment. I will be keeping the new servers on indefinitely unless problems are reported. If you have any issues please email uwcshelp@uw.edu as soon as you can.
