Accessibility at the UW

ASUW Office of Inclusive Design (OID)

The Office of Inclusive Design (OID) is an ASUW office dedicated to making the University of Washington a more inclusive and accessible place for all students. We provide event consultation services, educational resources, and funding to ASUW Entities and RSOs who are looking to make their events and office practices more inclusive.

Housed in the Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW), the Student Disability Commission is a student run and led advocacy organization committed to serving students, staff and faculty with disabilities at UW. The SDC understands disability as not merely an individual or medical problem, but rather the result of attitudinal and physical barriers preventing full participation in society.

The DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology) Center is dedicated to empowering people with disabilities through technology and education. It promotes awareness and accessibility—in both the classroom and the workplace—to maximize the potential of individuals with disabilities and make our communities more vibrant, diverse, and inclusive.
Disability Resources for Students (DRS)

Disability Resources for Students (DRS) is a unit within the Division of Student Life. DRS is dedicated to ensuring access and inclusion for all students with disabilities on the Seattle campus enrolled in our undergraduate, graduate, professional, Evening Degree and Access programs for over 45 years. DRS serves 5,000+ students with either temporary or permanent physical, health, learning, sensory or psychological disabilities. Students partner with our office to establish services and accommodations for their access and inclusion on campus.
Disability Services Office (DSO)

DSO’s mission is to provide leadership to the University community in achieving employment and educational access for individuals with disabilities. They provide services and accommodations to faculty, staff, and visiting members of the public with disabilities, accommodation advice and resources for departments, assistive equipment, interpreters, CART captioning, and more.
Husky Health & Well-Being
All UW Seattle student health services in one place. UW Seattle offers a wide range of health and wellness services, from exceptional medical care and counseling services to recreation classes, safety resources, peer health advocacy, trainings and more. Most services on this site are limited to currently enrolled UW Seattle students, while others are open to faculty, staff and the general public.

Student Legal Services (SLS)

Student Legal Services (SLS) is an on-campus law office that provides a safe and confidential space for all UW-Seattle, Tacoma, and Bothell students who have legal questions or concerns. We offer free 40-minute consultations on a broad range of issues. Students can also hire us for ongoing representation for a low hourly rate.
The D Center, its programming, and amenities are all sponsored by the Husky Union Building, Services and Activities Fee, and the Student Tech Fee.
