Introduction

Stormwater runoff continues to be an issue within urban environments due to the expansive use of impervious surfaces.  Runoff can cause erosion of soils, flooding, and it transports pollutants to nearby water bodies.  In recent years, cities have begun to take control of this unwanted runoff by designing infrastructure to hold, treat, and efficiently transport these waters.  A stormwater planter is one type of structure that can be used at many scales and in many different settings to treat stormwater runoff.
