City streets, parking lots, and commercial and residential properties are all areas that use stormwater planters to treat issues of stormwater runoff.  These can be incorporated into a site’s landscape area requirement through the use of native, hydrophilic flowers, grasses, shrubs, and trees.  Stormwater planters have the ability to reduce runoff volume, flow rate and temperature and treat stormwater runoff.  Because of their small scale, they cannot be used for collection of stormwater from large impervious surfaces or from very steep slopes.
