There are numerous places where trees
and other vegetation can be planted throughout our cities. In downtown
areas, trees are generally restricted to "intensely urban"
sidewalk planting strips. Other opportunities for urban trees exist
in parking lots, vegetation strips, and medians. These areas are known
as "broken urban" and partially paved, providing more opportunity
for integrating non-paved surfaces. Tree requirements and opportunities
vary between these two categories. |
