Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center

The Jean Vollum Natural Capital Center is a project in Portland, Oregon that has been recently completed. It has been awarded with the LEED gold standard for its' ability to meet LEED criteria. It is the first historic building renovation to have accomplished this. More than 98% of the building materials have been estimated to have been salvaged and recycled. The building has a green roof that along with the surrounding landscape, which includes bioswales, absorbs and recycles almost all the runoff created by building. There are low flow fixtures that contribute to water savings and efficient windows and electrical fixtures that contribute to energy savings. The building's location is easily accessible by public transportation, foot, and bicycle.
