Definition
Porous paving is a pavement system that allows precipitation and air to infiltrate to the subgrade below it. It is intended to reduce runoff and filter pollutants found in stormwater. Porous paving generally consists of either a flexible unit paver with void space between the pavers to allow percolation or void spaces within the actual paving that allows percolation through the pavement.
