Fauchea laciniata epiphytic on Codium fragile

Fauchea laciniata has many different lifestyles.  It can be epiphytic or epilithic.  It grows on the holdfasts of other algae and is also frequently found growing on worm tubes (Lamb et al. 2005).  It was found in Friday Harbor, WA as an epiphyte on Codium fragile.  It also provides habitat for other algae and it is common to find algae growing epiphytically on it as well (Vidargas, 2003).
