HOMEWORK

Due April 30:
Rome Show and Tell: The first set of articles we read discussed stereotypes of Italy. One of them even talked about representation of Italian culture in America. The first portfolio assignment asked you to think about your expectations for your trip. For this assignment I want you to find an object--picture, book, food, clothing, postcard, souvenier item, et cetera--that fits into our discussion of Rome and/or your expectations for the trip. Bring this item to class to share with other students. Be creative.

Rome Web Sites: Find two web sites that you think will be interesting to other students. Write down their complete URLs and a brief description of the contents of the site. I will collect this information from you in class and add it to the program web site. I will ask you to share one of the sites you find with the class during a portion of our time in the computer lab.

Due May 14
Writing Sample: Bring a one-page sample of your writing to class. You can select this sample (an excerpt from a larger project is fine) from any written work that you think best represents your writing style. You will be sharing your materials with other students in a class activity.
