The Fourth Annual British-North American Joint Meeting will be held in St.
Louis, Missouri. Our Conference Hotel will be the Hyatt

like the famous Gateway
arch, the St. Louis
Botanical Gardens, Busch Stadium
(home of Mark McGuire and the St Louis Cardinals), the International
Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame, and many other places to see. In
addition, St Louis has many attractions just
for kids!
We have come up with several activities that might be of interest to
delegates and their guests. On Thursday, 3 August, 1-5 p.m., you may choose
to visited the Missouri Botanical Gardens and take part in the Historic
Neighborhoods Tour. The Missouri Botanical garden is reported to be the
oldest botanical garden in the U.S. This trip includes a guided tram tour
through the Garden's 79 acres of flora. Afterwards, you will visit three
historical neighborhoods: Compton Heights (home of the beer barons), Lafayette
Square and its Victorian Mansions, and Soulard with its working-class
neighborhoods. Tickets are $22. a person.
On Friday Night, you can watch the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Atlanta
Braves at 7:10 p.m. at Busch Stadium. The Cards are looking good so far
this year and Mark McGuire is in home run form! This game will surely
be exciting. You may reserve Upper Terrace or Terrace Reserve seating
on your registration form. Be sure to register early since this game will
surely sell out!
On Sunday morning, a tour to the Cahokia Indian Mounds, followed by a
Mississippi Riverboat Cruise is being organized. This outing will last
from 9 a.m. -1 p.m. and tickets cost $25. each. Designated as a World
Heritage site in 1982, the Cahokia Mounds offer a glimpse of pre-Columbian
America. After a tour of the Mounds, visitors will embark on a replica
paddlewheeler for a one-hour cruise.
We'll meet you in St Louis!!
