Dr. Floria Nyandaya, MBChB, is a second-year MPH student in the Cardiometabolic Research and Training Program at the UW, funded by the Fogarty International Training Center. She is a medical doctor at Dr. Rasik Kantaria Jalaram Medical Services in Nairobi, where her work involves managing a cardiometabolic disease clinic. She also leads clinical treatment protocol development, conducts early screening with diagnostic tools; and develops individualized treatment modalities. Dr. Nyandaya also conducts clinical audits and maintains local surveillance data. Her thesis research will focus on lifetime cardiovascular disease risk prediction and social determinants of cardiovascular health in postpartum women with a history of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in Kenya. Her primary mentors are Dr. Sarah Masyuko (UW), Dr. Annette Fitzpatrick (UW), and Dr. Alfred Osoti (UoN).
