George Wanje, MPH

PhD in Global Health

George Wanje, MPH, is a first-year PhD student in Implementation Science in the Department of Global Health. Prior to joining the program, he worked as the Community Section Head at the collaborative University of Nairobi/University of Washington Mombasa Field Site conducting multidisciplinary HIV and STI research projects in Kenya.

His research interests are in women’s health and HIV. He is particularly interested on improving the cascade of HIV care and optimizing HIV treatment outcomes through integration of reproductive health services in his country. Currently, he is working on two implementation cluster randomized trials of family planning clinics employing the Systems Analysis and Improvement Approach (SAIA) to increase HIV testing (FP HIV) and cervical cancer screening (CCS SAIA) in Mombasa, and an implementation research of an audit and feedback intervention to reduce intrapartum stillbirths.

George received his MPH in Global Health in 2012 from the University of Washington through the International AIDS Research and Training Program.
