Joseph Mwania Sila, BSc, is an MPH student in the INTEGRATE/IARTP Program at the University of Washington (UW), funded by the NIH/Fogarty International Center. Mr. Sila works as a data manager for the PrEP in Pregnancy Accelerating Reach and Efficiency (PrEPARE) study, an implementation science pilot project in three counties in Western Kenya, where he leads data analysis and manuscript writing for primary study results, overseeing QA/QC procedures, coordinating data collection in study sites, and implementing guidelines for data managementMr. Sila also worked for the Adolescent Girls and Young Women study, which was under Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), as a data manager where his duties included database development, developing standard operating procedures, training staff, and managing project data in REDCap. His research interests are in HIV prevention and treatment and maternal health, especially among the most vulnerable groups in our society (AGYW). His primary mentors are Dr. Jillian Pintye (UW), Dr. John Kinuthia (KNH), Dr. Anjuli Wagner (UW) and Dr. Grace-John Stewart (UW).
