Word 2000 on Windows 2000 supports Unicode characters, but Word
v.X on Mac OS X does not.
-
For portability between platforms, use RTF (Rich Text Format), an
open standard word processing format which supports Unicode and a
reasonable number of formatting options, whenever using Unicode IPA.
-
On Mac OS X, TextEdit supports RTF and Unicode. On Windows 2000,
Word 2000 can output and read RTF files with Unicode characters.
