Serene is a senior in Linguistics, a choice partially inspired by her experiences growing up in community with both Cantonese and Mandarin speakers. Within her degree she has also studied Latin and American Sign Language. This is her second year tutoring at OWRC, where she is most excited about working with writers to represent their ideas accurately and leverage each writer’s voice wherever possible. Outside of the UW, you can find Serene dancing with Spectrum Dance Theater or trying new recipes, all the while wielding multiple spreadsheets to keep herself organized.
