Public Access

The USDOT Public Access Plan was issued in response to the February 22, 2013 Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies entitled “Increasing Access to the Results of Federally Funded Scientific Research“. This plan establishes objectives to ensure public access to Publications and Digital Data Sets arising from federally funded research and development (R&D) programs. Further, per the National Transportation Library Section 508 Accessibility Guidelines: “All public facing PDFs must be accessible as of March 23, 2018, according to the final Federal rule (for the ICT Refresh under Section 508). The updated 508 Standards apply to a federal agency’s full range of public-facing content, including websites, documents and media, blog posts, and social media sites.”

The sub pages listed below elaborate on several key aspects of public accessibility as they relate to PacTrans and our funded research, PacTrans requirements and expectations, and provide resources to assist researchers in maintaining compliance. These pages include:

  1. PacTrans Data Management and Accessibility
  2. Publication Accessibility and Managing Rights for products derived from PacTrans-funded Research
