[Pre-print, not peer-reviewed] An analysis of data from the Israeli Ministry of Health showed that by February 6, 2021, 45% of the Israeli population had received a first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine or had recovered from COVID-19 and 30% had received both doses or recovered form COVID-19. The proportions among those age 60 or over were 90% and 80%, respectively. In mid-January, the number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalization began declining, with larger decreases observed among older individuals, a trend that was more evident in early-vaccinated compared to late-vaccinated cities and was not observed in the previous lockdown.
