For the freshmen, welcome to UW! For everyone, I hope your first weeks of classes are going well! The AMSA Pre-med Club (American Medical Student Association: Premedical Chapter) will be having our first meeting of the school year *THIS WEDNESDAY*. Come and learn more about what AMSA is and what kind of exciting activities we provide for students.

* Learn about AMSA and membership benefits * Know what events and meetings we have planned for this quarter * Get answers on how to *get into research* right away! * Meet the officers
If you’re looking to explore the medical field, learn about current healthcare issues, network with doctors/med students/pre-med students, and be actively involved come to the meeting for more info!
And best of all, there will be *FREE PIZZA* @ the meeting!
***SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:*** To become a local UW AMSA member, there is a $25 dollar fee. This goes toward funding our different events, your members t-shirt,etc. This is the very basic option for being actively involved at the UW level
You also have the option to become a national member, which allows you to have access to all the other membership benefits including Kaplan Test-Prep discounts, free anatomy book, etc. And, this allows you to be in our national registry so that med schools can look you up to know you were an official, national member. This costs $75, but the membership *lasts for all 5 years*. However, AMSA is doing a special promotion (*ENDS TODAY, MONDAY*) due to a conference we just had and will give $25.00 off your membership making it only $50 (remember this is only the national membership and so you still have a local membership to pay).
