Team Leader and Planner Committee Applications

Dear Pre-Health Students,

Are you interested in planning an interactive shadowing experience in the rural communities of Washington? Healthcare Alternative Spring Break Planner Committee and Team Leader applications are currently open on www.hcasb.org/2012 and will be due Monday, November 7th, 2011, at 11:00 P.M.

Currently, 20% of U.S. citizens live in rural communities and only 10% of healthcare professionals work there. To help change this disparity, Healthcare Alternative Spring Break (HCASB) is determined to expose the next generation of healthcare professionals to the hardships that such rural communities face but also the rewards that rural medicine offers. Students are able to shadow orthopedic surgeons, cardiologists, optometrists, pediatricians, dentists, nurses and many other healthcare professionals. Team leaders will get the extraordinary opportunity to plan their own trip and develop their leadership skills. In addition, for those who are interested in networking and helping plan HCASB 2012, Planner Committee positions include: Public Relations and Web, Fundraising, Orientation, and Applications. For more information on the commitments and duties of each position, please check out the Applying & Planning page at www.hcasb.org/2012 or email us at hcasb@uw.edu.

Again, the due date is November 7, 2011. Admissions will be rolling so don’t miss out on a great opportunity to participate in an extraordinary experience

Best,

Jenny Zhou
