Suicide Prevention Walk!

Hi there,

My name is Juliana and I’m a student at UW working with a few other students and the RSO Active Minds to bring the first “Out of the Darkness” walk to UW to raise money and awareness for suicide prevention. Right now I am contacting your club to create a team for our event, which will be happening on April 14th from 9am to noon. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students, and stopping this should be an urgent and important task for our generation. Even clubs that aren’t directly related to health or psychology are encouraged to attend, because suicide is an issue that affects people from all walks of life. Registration is completely free and easy.

Register today at campuswalks.org http://campuswalks.org/ , like us on Facebook at facebook.com/outofthedarknessuw, and please do not hesitate to email me with any questions or if you want any extra information. We’re hoping to get many students on campus involved, so even if you yourself don’t want to create a team at this time, please let your club members know!

Together, we can make a difference.

Best,

Juliana Borges jborges@uw.edu

p.s. Additionally, we will be having a drawing at the event–for every $25 you raise, you get one ticket to enter into a drawing to win a variety of cool prizes! Right now these include a bookstore gift card, a week of free yoga, and a movie basket, and more are on the way. Just a little extra incentive 🙂
