Global Health Opportunities – August 2012 (fwd)

ISL Serve and be inspired!

International Service Learning

Students: We still have space available on a few of our August teams. Travel, serve in underserved communities, and learn about global health issues!

“To say my trip to Nicaragua for 2 weeks was the best trip of my life would be an understatement. On this trip I gained hands-on clinical experience, interpersonal skills, new friendships, a cultural experience, and affirmation for the direction of my future in the health care field. The communities we helped in Nicaragua will forever hold a valuable place in my heart as they taught me lessons about life, family, love, and the pursuit of happiness that I may not have received anywhere else.”

-Natalie N., James Madison University

Faculty: We can integrate our existing programs with your academic courses, allowing you to tailor the service learning experience to your educational goals and expectations. Students gain valuable skills and global perspective, while the underserved receive care to which they would otherwise have little or no access.

Our Mission:  ISL strives to enhance academic learning through service experience, while providing quality health care and other services for the underserved. We utilize in-country professionals and offer practical experience through socially responsible programs which observe the highest ethical standards and inspire students to a lifestyle of service.
