“Sexual Identity and Global Health Work: Graduate Students Share their Stories”

Friday, May 13, 2011 2-3pm Turner Auditorium, Room D209 Health Sciences Building

Please join us for a panel of graduate students from the University of Washington, as they share their stories, experiences, and thoughts about doing global health work and identifying as part of LGBTQ communities (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer) and/or working on issues relevant to global LGBTQ communities. Four panelists will each share their personal and professional stories and then take questions from the audience. Topics may include: coming out or not, cultural differences, gender roles or identity, navigating working and personal relationships in the field or within graduate school, etc.

Brought to you by the Gender, Sexuality, and Global Health Working Group, a newly formed committee of students, faculty, and staff from across campus, committed to raising awareness about LGBTQ issues in global health and creating a climate of acceptance for our colleagues and work.

All are welcome.
