The Fuller Lab seeking undergraduate researcher in HIV vaccine research, virology or immunology

The Fuller Lab is seeking undergraduate researchers that are interested in participating in projects to develop novel vaccines and therapies for HIV and obtaining experience in a collaborative, dynamic environment. Dr. Fuller’s lab investigates adaptive immune mechanisms of HIV control and how they can be directed to induce viral control for preventing infection and control of chronic infection.

Undergraduates have the option to gain experience as a volunteer or for credits. You will learn basic lab techniques, molecular biology, and cutting edge immunology techniques including tissue culture, vaccination, ELISA, Bioplex, ELISPOT and flow cytometry. You will also gain experience assisting with basic techniques in research lab and learn about latest advances in HIV vaccine research through participation in lab meetings, discussion, and mentoring. Requirements for this position include:

  • Interest in HIV vaccine research, virology or immunology
  • Basic lab skills such as those gained in general chemistry or biology lab courses
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Average a minimum 10-hour weekly commitment
  • Ability to come to our Belltown lab (easy via transit)
  • 1-3 years remaining in your education at UW
