My research is centered on urban political geographies with interests in the politics of mobility, geographies of faith-based organizations, and critical poverty studies. My current research, in collaboration with the Seattle-based homeless advocacy organization, Real Change, is focused on growing inequalities in the public transportation system in Seattle, WA. In particular, I am interested in how the neoliberalization of public transportation has re-oriented the mobility of homeless individuals as they navigate an increasingly punitive and market-oriented transportation network. My work examines the ways in which urban homelessness is governed through public transportation policy as well as the tactics of homeless individuals as they construct their mobility in everyday life. In all my work, I am dedicated to action-oriented research that has an accountability to the cities in which I live.
