A 17 year old with a bulge in his R groin

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
2.) What are the important aspects of the physical exam in this patient?

Is the hernia bilateral? Is it reducible? Does the hernia come into the scrotum? Is the bulge above (inguinal hernia) or below (femoral hernia) the inguinal ligament? Examine all of the genitalia for other abnormalities. Examine the abdomen for masses. Examine the rectum to look for a lesion and to evaluate the prostate
